THE RULES OF THE GAME

Each editor or contributor taking part draws up a list of titles related to the theme, representing their own perspective. To encourage overall diversity we only allow one or two records per band. The lists are collected and the first twenty records mentioned are assigned a score: twenty points for the one ranked first, nineteen for the next, and so on. If a record is mentioned by more than one participant, the points each one receives are added together. Ranking the titles starting with the one with the most points produces the final chart.
What you're reading, then, is a representation of the convergences and the plurality of views among those who contribute to Ondarock. It's not a list put together behind closed doors, there are no corrections or horse-trading. The only agreed-upon element is the set of rules above.
It's a game, and we hope the outcome intrigues readers as much as it does the participants. For those who want to dig deeper, the individual editors' personal charts can be treasure troves of discoveries. Happy exploring!

On the top step of the podium we find the surprising debut by King Hannah, an album that blends numerous genres, from post-rock to trip-hop, bending them to the service of the purest emotion. Close behind is the Belgian producer and rapper of Rwandan origin Stromae, who with his "Multitude" crowns every facet of his suburban, cross-pollinated poetics. Closing out our trio is the fifth album from Adrianne Lenker's band, a warm indie folk embrace with flourishes both traditional and modern.
