Dopo l'”Idiot Prayer“, un salmo al giorno scritto durante il lockdown, presentato graficamente come un piccolo libro di preghiere, musicato per un breve ascolto di due minuti ad opera sul Side A, a cui segue un Side B occupato dal lungo componimento strumentale “Psalm Instrumental”.
“Seven Psalms” può essere visto come un satellite di “Ghosteen“: liriche pregne di Dio, grief, morte e scene familiari (torna in “Such Things Should Never Happen” l’immagine degli uccelli come termine di paragone con la famiglia umana presente in “Spinning Song”), mentre Ellis sostiene le declamazioni con leggeri manti sintetizzati, screziati da celestiali voci lontane.
Sicuramente già presente negli scaffali dei fedelissimi del bardo australiano, “Seven Psalms” è comunque un episodio “altro” di Cave di cui consigliamo l’ascolto.
