Nick Cave, da sempre superbo narratore dei meandri più oscuri e violenti dell’animo umano, continua la sua missione in questa soundtrack, dove si staglia come movimento principale il lento e fosco violino di Warren Ellis (“Body Disposal”, “Death And Baptism”, “Lionel Blames Himself”). “He’s Going to See Me” scende nell’abisso, con le parti vocali che rievocano le urla delle vittime, mentre spettrali suoni di pianoforte (“No More Free Rides”, “Oily Tadpoles”) si alternano agli strappi e ai ritmi convulsi di “Tourniquet Knot”.
Meno “protagonista” rispetto a “Blonde” – dove l’immagine cammina di pari passo con le note dei compositori – la soundtrack di “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” si chiude con “End Credits”, una lenta e notturna danza di fantasmi, tra sordide luci al neon e degrado, a cui spetta il compito di far calare il sipario.
