The rush for tickets is on for the three Italian dates of the new Bob Dylan tour. Two days ahead of the general sale opening, scheduled for Wednesday 22 July on Ticketone, an exclusive presale reserved for users registered on the Virgin Radio website kicked off at 11am today.
The American singer-songwriter, who will turn 85 in 2026, will return to Italy for three shows: 2 November at the Unipol Dome in Milan, 5 November at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome, and 7 November at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna).
Ticket prices
The presale has revealed the first ticket prices. For the Milan date, the first numbered section costs 161 euros, the second 126.50 euros, the third 98.90 euros, and the fifth numbered section 69 euros.
In Rome prices are slightly higher: 172.50 euros for the first numbered section, 149.50 euros for the second, 115 euros for the third, and 89.70 euros for the fifth numbered section.
For the Bologna concert, at least at this stage, only two VIP packages are available: the "VIP 1 Front Row" at 458.92 euros and the "VIP 2 Gold Hot" at 422.69 euros.
To find out availability and prices for standard tickets, fans will have to wait for general sales to open.
The three Italian dates will follow the "phone free" format Dylan has adopted for several years now. At the entrance, mobile phones, smartwatches, video cameras and other recording devices will be placed in special Yondr pouches, which stay with their owners but can only be opened in designated areas. During the concert it will therefore not be possible to take photographs or make audio or video recordings, with the aim of encouraging a listening experience free of distractions and screens.
Once the presale period reserved for Virgin Radio subscribers ends, any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public from 10am on Wednesday 22 July through authorised outlets.
The new guitarist
Meanwhile, Bob Dylan's band keeps changing shape. During recent stops on the "Rough And Rowdy Ways Tour," at the PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati and Stage AE in Pittsburgh, a new guitarist made his debut: Jad Tariq, brought in to replace Julian Lage. Lage had only joined the lineup a few weeks earlier, taking over from Doug Lancio, but had to leave the tour to honor previously scheduled commitments. Around the same time, Joel Paterson had also come aboard, stepping in for Bob Britt. This constant turnover confirms just how much Dylan's lineup is now in a permanent state of flux.
Twenty-nine years old, Jad Tariq is a guitarist and singer admired for a style rooted in jazz, swing and jump blues. In September he'll release his new album "Precious Company," but for now it's unclear whether his stint in the band is meant to last. Julian Lage himself will return to his own shows in the US come autumn, while Dylan will be busy with his European tour.
