From St. Vincent to Julia Holter and Cigarettes After Sex: the most interesting new releases

St. Vincent – “Broken Man”

The new studio album by Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, is titled “All Born Screaming” and will be released on April 26 via Virgin Music Group. It features numerous collaborations: Dave Grohl, Rachel Eckroth, Cate Le Bon, Josh Freese and many others. Below you'll find the video for the first single, “Broken Man”.

Arab Strap – “Allatonceness”

After sharing the first single “Bliss” a few weeks ago, Arab Strap have released the second single “Allatonceness” from their new album “I’m totally fine with it ???? don’t give a fuck anymore ????”, out May 10 via Rock Action Records.

Cigarettes After Sex – “Tejano Blue”

Cigarettes After Sex have announced their new LP “X’s”, out July 12 via Partizan Record. On the album, frontman Greg Gonzalez bluntly recounts a relationship that lasted four years: “The record feels brutal. I could sit and talk about this loss with someone, but I wouldn't scratch the surface. I really have to write about it, sing about it, make music, and only then can I start to analyze it and learn from it. Or simply relive it, in a way. I don't have that “Eternal Sunshine”-type thing of wanting to forget”.

Julia Holter – "Evening Mood"

Last month, Julia Holter announced her new album "Something In The Room She Moves", due out March 22, and shared the first single "Spinning". Now she's back with another new song, "Evening Mood", whose sound - she says - was influenced by "Ponyo" by Hayao Miyazaki, her daughter's favorite film. "I had Ponyo in mind, the fish who transforms into a little girl. I was inspired by the mutability of creatures and how this malleability works alongside our capacity to love. Dev Hoff's fretless bass lines," writes the American singer-songwriter, "are a crucial counterpoint to the voice. Chris Speed's clarinet soars like a bird, Beth Goodfellow's drums and Tashi Wada's shimmering Prophet pads create an ultrasonic heartbeat." Directed by Dicky Bahto, the video stars performer Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta.

Cloud Nothings – “Running Through The Campus”

The Cloud Nothings have finally revealed all the details of their new album "Final Summer", out next April 19. The record was made with Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War On Drugs, Nothing), mixed by Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties and mastered by Jack Callahan. In November the band released the title track, and this week the second single, "Running Through The Campus", has arrived.

Charli XCX – "Von Dutch"

Charli XCX is back with a new track titled "Von Dutch" that previews her new album "Brat", out this coming summer. The single, produced by Easyfun, comes with a video directed by Yutaka Yamazaki aka Torso. Watch it below:

Vasco Brondi – "Illumina Tutto"

There are only two weeks left until the release of the new album byVasco Brondi, "Un Segno Di Vita", out March 15 alongside the book "Piccolo manuale di pop impopolare". The first single "Illumina Tutto" is a track that thrives on humanity and empathy. In presenting it, Brondi wrote: "It's a creed, a strange creed, but everyone has their own. It's the story of someone who sets out with the odds stacked against them and a fire inside that burns yet lights up everything. There's the world beyond the screens, the life and death of saints, the sudden awakening of volcanoes. The hunger and thirst for life. Love, strings and distorted guitars.

How To Dress Well – "New Confusion"

Six years on from his last LP "The Anteroom", Tom Krell aka How To Dress Well has announced the details of his new record "I Am Toward You", out May 10 on Sargent House. Krell describes the months following the previous album's tour like this: "I wanted to find corners of myself I'd never explored, clandestine and occult meditation. After the tour I had to reorient myself toward music in a purer, less restrictive way, to recover what made it one of the most instructive phenomena, one that opens my heart in my life."
