Pink Floyd take to the pitch alongside… Inter Milan. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of “Wish You Were Here“, FC Internazionale Milano and Sony Music Italy have launched a collaboration that weaves together musical imagery and football culture. The initiative takes the shape of an exclusive product line already available online, with further releases planned in the coming weeks. From April 15th, themed guitar picks and drumsticks go on sale, while from April 30th a special bundle will arrive including a customised t-shirt and the celebratory vinyl, currently available for pre-order.
The project draws inspiration from a little-known episode in the band's history: in the early Seventies Pink Floyd had founded their own team, the Pink Floyd Football Club, made up of David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and members of the crew. From this idea comes the Pffc Collection, which reinterprets that experience by turning it into a contemporary identity, where the naming is reworked as Pink Floyd Fc Internazionale Milano.
The centerpiece of the collection is a retro jersey inspired by a historic photograph of the team, updated with current aesthetic codes and a fusion between the band's visual imagery and that of the black-and-blue club. The front features the PFFC initials, while the back displays a special version of the logo marking 50 years of "Wish You Were Here". The line also includes scarves, tote bags and musical accessories, developed following the same graphic design.
Alongside the Pffc Collection, Inter is offering two further products dedicated to the anniversary: a bundle with an unreleased t-shirt and Exclusive Blue Vinyl, and a limited-edition anthem jacket with dedicated packaging. "This collection reflects our desire to make Inter a brand capable of engaging with different fields, going beyond football," explains Luca Adornato, the club's Brand & Marketing Director. "Music is part of our identity, and this collaboration represents a significant step in that journey." Along the same lines, Luca Fantacone, Catalogue Director at Sony Music Italy, highlights the connection between the two languages: "Music and football often find unexpected points of contact. This collaboration celebrates a fundamental band and a historic club through a shared project."
The celebrations also include a new record release: “Pink Floyd – Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26th, 1975”, a recording restored by Steven Wilson from tapes made by bootlegger Mike “Mike the Mic” Millard. The concert, already included in the “Wish You Were Here 50” box set, will be released on transparent 4LP vinyl from April 18th to coincide with Record Store Day, while the 2CD version will follow on April 24th. Both editions feature the complete live show, spread across 16 remastered tracks.
