It's a symbolic journey, too, in the choice of venues, as CSI – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti return to the stage with their “In viaggio” tour. After kicking off at Monte Sole, where a circle had closed on 29 June 2001 with an evening in memory of Giuseppe Dossetti, on Tuesday 8 September the group featuring Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Massimo Zamboni, Gianni Maroccolo, Ginevra Di Marco, Francesco Magnelli and Giorgio Canali will play Alba's Piazza Medford, in a concert included in the 2026 Maratona Fenogliana program. The show is set to start at 8:15pm.
The date brings CSI back to Alba thirty years after their historic concert at the Chiesa di San Domenico on 5 October 1996, dedicated to Beppe Fenoglio. That evening, which remains deeply tied to the city's cultural memory, was recorded and turned into the album “La terra, la guerra, una questione privata”, released in January 1998 and inspired by the work of the Alba-born writer. Particularly evocative is Giovanni Lindo Ferretti's line: “Alba la presero in duemila il dieci ottobre e la persero in duecento il due novembre dell'anno 1944”.
Gates open at 5:30pm. The concert is expected to end around 11:30pm and can hold up to 8,800 spectators.
