Kings Of Leon – “Mustang”
The Kings Of Leon have announced their new album “Can We Please Have Fun”, due out on 10 May via Capitol Records. It's the sixth studio album for the American band, arriving three years after the previous “When You See Yourself“. On the first single, “Mustang”, Kings Of Leon said: “It was the most fun we've had making a record… It's like we let ourselves be musically vulnerable”.
Paul Weller – “Soul Wandering”
Paul Weller has announced his new record, “66”. His seventeenth studio album will feature collaborations with Noel Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream and Suggs of Madness. Weller has also shared a teaser for the upcoming LP and the first single, “Soul Wandering”.
Bat For Lashes – “The Dream Of Daphne”
Six years on from “Lost Girls“, Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes has announced her sixth studio album, “The Dream Of Delphi”, out from 31 May via Mercury KX. As the first single, the British artist has shared the title track, which you can listen to below:
MGMT – “Dancing In Babylon” (Feat. Christine And The Queens)
The MGMT have shared their fourth single, a duet with Christine And The Queens titled “Dancing In Babylon”, which precedes their fifth studio album “Loss Of Life”. Listen to the track below:
Max Ritcher – “SLEEP: Non-eternal”
After “SLEEP”, the monumental eight-hour work released in 2015, and after its recent shorter version “SLEEP: Tranquility Base”, Max Richter returns to his most ambitious record with the piano-only version “SLEEP: Piano Edition”. The single previewing the new release already makes clear what to expect from the German composer: an EP of immersive, intimate sounds in the signature style of the modern classical master. The EP will be released to mark World Sleep Day, 15 March.
SZA – “Saturn”
Fresh from winning three awards at this year's Grammy Awards, SZA has released a single titled “Saturn”, which had been partly previewed with a short promotional teaser during the awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Listen to the new track below:
Fabri Fibra – “In Italy 2024” (Feat. Emma & Baby Gang)
Nowadays almost everyone writes it and takes it for granted, but the original version of “In Italy” didn't feature Gianna Nannini, who came on board for the first “remix”. There's even a bootleg version, “In Calabria”, with Vincenzo Da Via Anfossi. This 2024 version, arriving a good 16 years after the original, is Italian hip-hop single of the week, since it's a single by Fabri Fibra, released right as “Nuova scena” lands on Netflix. While Emma almost impersonates Nannini and Baby Gang serves as a representative of the new scene (fittingly enough), the two main reasons to listen are elsewhere: the first verse left unchanged, a bitter testament to the country's standstill; and Fabri Fibra's new verse, with a shift in flow and some particularly sharp rhymes, chief among them the one referencing Cucchi.
