07-07-2026

On Tuesday, July 14th, the Pixies return to Italy for the sole date of their world tour "Pixies 40", scheduled at the Parco della Musica in Milan. The concert, organized by Dna Concerts, celebrates forty years in the career of one of the most influential bands in the history of alternative rock.
The band, made up of longtime members Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering, joined by bassist Emma Richardson, is currently touring Europe and North America with a run of shows retracing four decades of music, including symbolic stops such as their debut at London's Royal Albert Hall. Opening the evening will be British outfit The Pale White, delivering a set of energetic rock with abrasive edges.

The band

Formed in Boston in 1986, the Pixies revolutionized the language of alternative rock through an unprecedented blend of pop melodies, noise explosions and surreal lyrics. Their style influenced entire generations of musicians, helping to define the sound of '90s alternative rock.
After starting out in American clubs, recognition arrived in Europe, where the British music press was the first to acknowledge their worth. Albums like "Come On Pilgrim" (1987), "Surfer Rosa" (1988) and "Doolittle" (1989) changed the course of independent rock, turning the band into an absolute touchstone. Long tours across the US and Europe further cemented their cult status, right up until the split in 1993.
The 2004 reunion brought the Pixies back to the top of the international scene, with sold-out shows and a triumphant reception, starting with their appearance at Coachella. Since then the band has opened a second chapter in their career, releasing five new studio albums since 2014 and proving their creative drive remains undiminished.
Their latest work, "The Night The Zombies Came", has received a warm response from international critics.
Forty years since forming, and with ten studio albums behind them, the Pixies remain an essential touchstone of alternative rock.
