The band

Formed in Boston in 1986, Pixies are among the most influential bands in the history of alternative rock. With their blend of pop melodies, noise-rock outbursts and unpredictable dynamics, they left a deep mark on the music of the last few decades, inspiring artists such as Nirvana, Radiohead and Weezer. Albums like “Surfer Rosa” and “Doolittle” redefined the language of alt-rock, turning the band into a touchstone for entire generations.
After splitting up in the early Nineties, the group reunited in 2004, returning to perform in front of even bigger crowds and conquering the world's leading festivals. Since 2014 they have released five new studio albums, proving they're not simply living off their past. The latest, “The Night The Zombies Came“, confirms the American band's determination to keep experimenting without giving up the identity that made them famous.
Forty years after their formation and with ten studio albums behind them, Pixies remain an essential touchstone of alternative rock.
