Pixies: "Bossanova" and "Trompe Le Monde" reissued with unreleased tracks

04-06-2026

The Pixies keep digging through their own archive. Over thirty years after the release of "Bossanova" and "Trompe Le Monde", the Boston band will put out new reissues of both albums enriched with previously unreleased recordings. The remastered editions of the 1990 and 1991 records will arrive on September 11th via 4AD. Alongside the standard versions, two limited vinyl runs will also be available, called "Dinked International Editions", packaged with bonus 7" singles featuring material never released before.

For "Bossanova", the extra content includes a version of "Dig For Fire" originally recorded with Steve Albini during the sessions for "Surfer Rosa". Among the rarities is also "Go Man Go", a song co-written by Black Francis and Kim Deal. A different rendition of the track had already been recorded by the Breeders during the "Last Splash" sessions and later released on a reissue, but this will be the first time the Pixies' version officially sees the light of day.

The reissue of "Trompe Le Monde" will also offer two additional recordings. The accompanying single will include "Brackish Boy" and "Punk Loop". A later version of "Brackish Boy" would go on to appear in 1993 on Black Francis's self-titled solo album, released under the name Frank Black. "Punk Loop", on the other hand, appears to be a sonic experiment that has remained completely unreleased until now.
The new editions of "Bossanova" and "Trompe Le Monde" will be available from September 11th. Preorders for both reissues are available here and here.
