"Home To Us", the new single by Paul McCartney, came out today, May 8, marking the first true vocal duet with his former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr. The track also features the voices of Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri on backing vocals. The song is the second single taken from “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane”, McCartney's new album due out May 29.

On the album, where Paul McCartney plays most of the instruments himself, "Home To Us" is the only track to feature a guest drummer. The song actually grew out of a drum part recorded by Ringo Starr at the request of McCartney himself and producer Andrew Watt. Starr was initially only meant to sing a line or two, but the project eventually turned into a full-fledged duet between the two former Beatles. Discussing the single, McCartney explained: "In writing the song I talk about our origins. Like a lot of people, you start with nothing and build yourself up. Ringo came from the Dingle, a rough neighborhood. He told me that, coming home from work, he'd often get mugged. It was a crazy life, but that was home to us."
"The Boys Of Dungeon Lane" will be McCartney's first solo album in over five years. The record is being presented as one of the most autobiographical and introspective works of his career, focusing on the years of his personal and musical formation before the explosion of Beatlemania, amid family memories and his first experiences with John Lennon and George Harrison.
