Kneecap performed in Milan and Bologna for the first two of their four scheduled Italian dates as part of their “Fenian Tour”. The Belfast trio also bring to the stage tracks from their new album “Fenian”, released last April 24th, a work that marks a further evolution for the project made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí. Tonight brings the highly anticipated show at Rome's Auditorium, followed by the final leg of the mini Italian tour on June 18th in Bari.
Kneecap – already OndaRock's Album of the Month with their debut “Fine Art” – are one of the most talked-about and influential acts on the new Irish scene, capable of blending hip-hop, electronics and punk attitude into a direct, provocative language. The Belfast group accompanied the album's release with a statement that reflects the tone of the record: “They tried to stop us by labelling us 'terrorists', cancelling shows, even with the Prime Minister himself getting involved. But we're still here. 'Fenian' is our answer: darker, more defiant, more triumphant. An album for those who speak truth to power”.
Based on the setlists the band played in Milan and Bologna, here's the likely running order for Kneecap's Rome show.

Produced by Dan Carey, who has also worked with Fontaines D.C., Kae Tempest and Wet Leg, “Fenian” is the band's third studio album, following 2024's “Fine Art”, the record that helped cement their international reputation. Among the most representative tracks are “Liars Tale”, an explosive blend of punk and rave born as a response to attempts at censorship, along with songs like “Éire Go Deo”, “Palestine” and the title track “Fenian”, which combine adrenaline, satire and political denunciation.
Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí describe the record as a direct result of the pressure they've faced: from accusations of terrorism over their statements against the Israeli government to cancelled shows and institutional condemnation. A context that, they explain, only strengthened their resolve. “Fenian” was born as a clear-eyed, deliberate response to those who tried to silence them, and was made together with Dan Carey, the producer who has also worked with Squid.
In recent years Kneecap have also drawn attention for their stances on political and social issues, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Their profile was further boosted by the biographical film “Kneecap”, honoured at the BAFTAs and the Sundance Film Festival, which helped transform the trio from an underground phenomenon into a major international act.
The tour marks the first chance for Italian audiences to see the band live, with a setlist spanning their entire catalogue, from their earliest work through to the most recent tracks featured on “Fenian”.
