Wet Leg are a British indie rock band from the Isle of Wight, formed in 2019 by Rhian Teasdale (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Hester Chambers (vocals and lead guitar).
The two girls, still in college at the time, met in 2009, forging a deep friendship cemented by a shared passion for rock and post-punk music.
Before the Wet Leg experience, Teasdale had spent many years performing in venues on the Isle of Wight as a musician and pianist.
Their debut single "Chaise Longue" was released on 15 June 2021, immediately drawing huge media attention and racking up millions of streams across all digital platforms.
Their second single, "Wet Dream", released a few months later, confirmed the promise shown on their debut track, further heightening interest in their artistic trajectory.
On 30 October they appeared on the BBC show "Later... with Jools Holland", their first TV appearance, and on 29 November they announced the release of their self-titled debut album, which came out on 8 April 2022 via Domino. The same day saw the release of the double single "Too Late Now" / "Oh No".
The lineup is rounded out by Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums, percussion) and Joshua Omead Mobaraki (additional guitars, synthesizers).
