Kneecap in Italy for the first time, with 4 dates. New album "Fenian" out in April

13-02-2026

As the release of their third studio album, "Fenian", set for April 24th, draws near, Kneecap announce the European tour that will accompany the new record. For the Belfast trio it's a significant milestone: in June 2026 the band will play in Italy for the first time ever, with four consecutive dates.

The Italian dates are as follows:

  • June 15, 2026 – Milan, Circolo Magnolia
  • June 16, 2026 – Bologna, Sequoie Park
  • June 17, 2026 – Rome, Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone
  • June 18, 2026 – Bari

"Fenian" follows 2024's "Fine Art" and is presented as an evolution in the group's trajectory. Production duties go to Dan Carey, who has already worked with Fontaines D.C., Kae Tempest and Wet Leg. The first single taken from the album is "Liars Tale". The record also features collaborations with Radie Peat, Kae Tempest and Fawzi.

Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí describe the album as the direct result of the pressure they've come under: from terrorism accusations over their statements against the Israeli government, to cancelled shows, to official institutional condemnation. A context that, they explain, has only strengthened their resolve. "Fenian" is in fact a lucid, deliberate response to those who tried to silence them, and it was made together with Dan Carey, the producer who has also worked with Squid.

The band has honed a darker sound, in keeping with the mood of the times, but one still charged with a spirit of defiance and self-affirmation. The title recalls the warriors of Irish folklore and a term historically used as a slur against the Irish, here reclaimed as a symbol of those who keep speaking truth to power. It's a discourse that extends to the survival of the Gaelic language and culture after centuries of colonization, a theme central to Kneecap's identity as well. "The Paddies are back," they declare in closing.

Previewing the album is the single "Liars Tale", produced by Dan Carey and accompanied by a video directed by Thomas James, which you can watch below.

Here is Kneecap's full statement announcing the new release: "They tried to stop us by labelling us 'terrorists', with cancelled shows and statements from the Prime Minister himself.

We had all the resolve we needed. This isn't a knee-jerk reaction, but a considered response to those who tried to silence us. And they failed.

We made this album with Dan Carey, a producer we're honoured to have worked with. The sound is more sinister, because we're living in sinister times. But it's also defiant and triumphant.

Fittingly and proudly titled 'Fenian', the album takes its name from the warriors of Irish folklore, a term that later became a slur against the Irish.

Now we use it to define anyone who speaks truth to power.

After 800 years of colonisation, they thought the Irish language would die. It didn't, thanks to Muintir na Gaeltachta and all the Gaels who refused to let their culture and language be destroyed.

Kneecap ran the same risk... but we're still here.

The Paddies are back.”
