Gianni Morandi takes the stage tonight, April 21, at 9pm at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome for one of the most anticipated dates of his "C'era un ragazzo" tour, which also marks 60 years since his classic "C'era un ragazzo che come me amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones".
The setlist will also include the other best-known songs from his catalogue, from "Uno su mille" to "Beautiful Lady", from "Occhi di ragazza" to "Off-Key Songs", alongside more recent tracks such as "Monghidoro", written by Lorenzo Jovanotti – who joined him on stage for the Milan date – and "Songs", still unreleased, penned by Giovanni Caccamo and performed live for the first time.
Among the most heartfelt moments of the concert is the planned tribute to Lucio Dalla: before "Futura", footage is shown of the famous TV sketch in which the "dwarf from Bologna" and the "Lion of Monghidoro" faced off ironically in a boxing ring, promising "no low blows". The show then moves through the great classics, from "Occhi di ragazza" to "Se perdo anche te", from "Un mondo d'amore" to "Uno su mille",
Based on the setlist performed on April 17 at the Unipol Forum in Assago, here is the likely running order for Gianni Morandi's concert in Rome:
After the Rome date, the tour continues on April 24 at the Unipol Arena in Bologna, before moving on to Florence, Terni, Montichiari, Pesaro, Padua, and wrapping up in Genoa on May 6.
Over the course of his long career, Morandi has established himself as one of the most popular figures in Italian song, releasing albums such as "Dalla/Morandi" with Lucio Dalla, "L'amore ci cambia la vita", "Varietà" and "Bisogna vivere". Among his best-known achievements remains his win at the Sanremo Festival with "Si può dare di più", alongside Umberto Tozzi and Enrico Ruggeri.
