Ditonellapiaga joins the line-up of the Concertone del Primo Maggio, alongside the previously announced artists. The addition comes just ahead of the release of her new album "Miss Italy", the title of which saw the Roman artist win a legal dispute with the organizer of the beauty pageant, Patrizia Mirigliani.
The line-up, announced so far in alphabetical order, includes Angelica Bove, Ditonellapiaga, Eddie Brock, Emma Nolde, La Niña, Litfiba – appearing with their classic 1980s line-up (Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi and Gianni Maroccolo) – Riccardo Cocciante and Sayf.
Also confirmed are the finalists of 1MNEXT, the contest dedicated to emerging artists: Bambina, a singer-songwriter from Calabria, Cainero, from Terracina, and Cristiana Verardo, from Puglia. The three artists will perform on the Concertone stage for the final of the competition promoted by Cgil, Cisl and Uil.
The selection was entrusted to a jury made up of Massimo Bonelli, artistic director of Primo Maggio and jury president, Marta Venturini, Lucia Stacchiotti (iCompany), Julian Borghesan and Giorgiana Cristalli.
The winners were announced by Eddie Brock, who also confirmed his own participation in the event on the occasion. The Roman singer-songwriter recently received a Gold Record for the track “Non è mica te”.
As usual, the Concertone will be free to attend and broadcast live on Rai 3 and Rai Radio 2, as well as streamed on RaiPlay and Rai Italy. Rai Radio 2 will follow the entire day with live links from the backstage at Piazza San Giovanni, artist interviews and dedicated content on social media, with visual radio broadcast on channel 202.
Arisa and Pierpaolo Spollon are reportedly the frontrunners to host the event. The names of the singer and the actor, first reported by L'Espresso, have also been confirmed by sources close to the organization. However, pending official confirmation, it's not clear whether the relevant contracts have already been signed.
