Ditonellapiaga

Margherita Carducci, born in Rome in 1997, is better known by her stage name Ditonellapiaga. Despite being Gen Z, her influences blend the Eighties with the present day, mixing irony and citation with memories of pop from the turn of the millennium. Somewhere between Adrianne Lenker and Beyoncé, as she herself puts it, and more broadly between mainstream appeal and authorial vision, between songs with a message and pop (and often rap) choruses, she struck an unstable balance between these different souls on her debut album "Camouflage" (2022), in a whirl of references, provocations, over-the-top flourishes and the occasional, somewhat generic, soft soul-pop and r'n'b moment. Almost everyone discovered her thanks to "Chimica", sung with Donatella Rettore and also taken to Sanremo 2022. Her second album, "Flash" (2024), is a classic, and therefore difficult, second album. In 2026 Ditonellapiaga's stock rises again thanks to her participation at Sanremo with the song "How annoying!" (third place at the Ariston, but number one on the radio charts for several weeks) and with the subsequent album "Miss Italy", which consolidates her electropop evolution, blending ironic flashes with sharp lyrics.
