From Fka Twigs to Silverlites, from Chelsea Wolfe to Drop Nineteens: the most interesting new releases

Silverlites – “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay”

A new supergroup has been born from the union of members of Rem, Black Crowes and Screaming Trees, alongside singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur. The project, named Silverlites, has already released a first single, “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay”, which precedes the self-titled debut album, “Silverlites”, out November 15.

The new lineup features Joseph Arthur on lead vocals, joined by Peter Buck of Rem on acoustic guitar, Rich Robinson of Black Crowes also on acoustic guitar, and Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees, switching between drums, double bass, vibraphone and backing vocals.

Behind the first single “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay” lies a peculiar story: it's actually built around a guitar track that Martin had recorded in a Nashville hotel room back in 2019. You can listen to it below.

Chelsea Wolfe – “Place In The Sun”

Chelsea Wolfe has announced her new Ep “Unbound”, the latest collection of tracks from her new album “She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She“. The upcoming release, due out November 15, follows “Undone” and contains further reworked tracks from the album, this time in stripped-down, acoustic form.

Alongside the announcement, the dark muse from Sacramento shared a music video for “Place In The Sun (Unbound)”, which you can watch below.

Drop Nineteens – “Daymom”

Last year, Drop Nineteens, Boston's storied shoegaze outfit, broke a thirty-year silence with the release of "Hard Light," a studio comeback that stirred the hearts of nostalgics and dreamy-distortion lovers alike. Now, just a few months later, the quintet announces a new chapter: on February 7th, courtesy of Wharf Cat, "1991" will see the light of day, a collection of demos recorded in that very year, a pivotal one for the band. Listen to the first single below:

FKA Twigs – "Perfect Stranger"

FKA Twigs has unveiled a new track. "Perfect Stranger" is the second single lifted from her forthcoming album, "Eusexua," following last month's release of the title track. The accompanying video continues the grey, aseptic office aesthetic of the Eusexua world, enriched with BDSM-inspired imagery. The direction is by Jordan Hemingway, while special appearances include Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Yves Tumor.
