FKA twigs is the stage name of British singer-songwriter and musician Tahliah Debrett Barnett (Cheltenham, 16 January 1988). Raised in Tewkesbury, in the English county of Gloucestershire, she became a backup dancer at 17, after moving to south London. She made her music debut with the EPs "EP1" and "EP2", released in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
Her debut album, "LP1" (2014), won critical acclaim, as well as reaching No. 16 on the UK Official Albums Chart and No. 30 on the US Billboard 200. After being shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, she released a third EP in 2015, "M3LL155X", and her second studio album in 2019, "Magdalene".
Her work spans a range of styles, from electronic music to trip-hop, R&B and avant-garde.
