Tricky: new album out in July. Watch the video for the single "Out Of Place". One live date in Italy

22-04-2026

Tricky announces his new album, "Different When It’s Silent", out July 17 via False Idols. It's his first solo work since 2020's "Fall To Pieces".

The album is introduced by the single “Out Of Place”, which renews his collaboration with Marta Złakowska, by now a steady presence in his most recent productions. The track fits into a stretch of artistic continuity following the parallel ventures Lonely Guest, Theis Thaws and the shared project “Out The Way”, released in 2025.

Alongside the album's release, a new European tour is planned. Among the confirmed dates is also an Italian stop: July 9th at Triennale di Milano. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.

Tricky will headline an exclusive concert in the Gardens of Triennale Milano, where he'll present a special set alongside vocalist Marta Zlakowska.

The trip-hop pioneer, born Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws, will deliver a performance built as a reinterpretation of his classic catalogue, backed by visuals designed specifically for the occasion and the constant presence of Marta Zlakowska, a voice that has been central to the most recent evolutions of his artistic path.

With African, Irish and Jamaican blood running through his veins, Adrian Thaws aka Tricky is a bluesman on loan to the rave generation, able to filter and manipulate the most disparate material. Heir to the entropic disorder of Sly Stone, Tricky remains a central hub of last century's music. While the aura of Massive Attack floated in the ether as a dreamy sound-system hypothesis, and Portishead confined their work of "active recycling" to lounge-jazz, soul and soundtracks for spy movies, Tricky is the black hole, the emotional-semiotic dumping ground of an entire sonic civilization. The ideal point of contact between dub, hip-hop, funk, electro, blues, gothic, synth-pop, indie-rock and much more. A devilish cherub who mocks labels and delights in keeping one foot in two camps ("high" art and pop culture, noise and melody). An isolated and otherwise unimaginable case of an "isolationist" b-boy. The most avant-garde "thing" ever spawned by the Bristol trip-hop scene.
