Rosalía has released the video for "Focu 'Ranni," a track partly sung in Sicilian. The content is not currently available on YouTube, only on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, where the deluxe version of her latest album, "Lux," has also been released. The track is dedicated to Saint Rosalia, a central figure in Palermo's tradition, and is among the bonus tracks now available to stream.
The video, directed by Petra Collins, builds a visual world suspended between contemporary suggestions and more rarefied atmospheres: women dressed as brides ride motorcycles, coming together in a dimension of sisterhood, amid white horses and natural landscapes. Rosalía fits into this setting with a presence that echoes certain aesthetics already seen in her recent work.

The decision not to release the video on YouTube or social media follows a strategy already adopted by other artists, including Taylor Swift, who has in the past kept certain content exclusive to streaming platforms.
With “Lux (Complete Works)”, Rosalía has made available all the tracks from the expanded version of the project: alongside “Focu ‘Ranni”, there's also “Jeanne”, “Novia Robot” and “Dio Es Un Stalker (versión Francotiradora)”. Some of these songs have already made it into the tour setlist, although they weren't performed at the Milan date that was cut short due to food poisoning.
“Focu ‘Ranni” was born during a stay in Sicily, when the artist came across the figure of Saint Rosalia, venerated for having freed Palermo from the plague of 1624. The title means “great fire” and is used as an image of an extreme emotional state.
The song is mostly in Spanish, but in the final section Rosalía introduces a verse in Sicilian, in line with the use of multiple languages already found in other tracks on “Lux”, such as “Mio Cristo piange diamanti”.
Below is the passage in Sicilian and its translation:
Tu
‘U me focu ‘ranni
Mi jittaiu ‘nt’a lu nenti
Pi nun perdiri ‘a libbirtà
E l’amure senza liggi
È l’unicu ch’accittassi
Mi jettu ‘nt’a lu nenti
Prima d’abbruciarmi
Tu
My great fire
I threw myself into nothingness
So as not to lose freedom
And love without laws
It's the only one I'd accept
I threw myself into nothingness
Before I burn myself
