Rolling Stones: here's the new single “Jealous Lover”

21-06-2026

The Rolling Stones have unveiled the details of “Jealous Lover,” the second single from their new album “Foreign Tongues,” due out July 10 via Polydor Records. The track will be released on June 26 and follows “In The Stars,” which came with an accompanying video, as well as “Rough And Twisted,” initially released under the pseudonym Cockroaches. While “In The Stars” showed a more pop-rock side of the band, “Jealous Lover” brings the group back to its rhythm and blues roots, in a track marked by Mick Jagger's falsetto and instantly catchy melodies. Alongside Jagger, the track features Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood on guitars, Darryl Jones on bass, and Steve Jordan on drums and percussion. Guests include Steve Winwood, who contributes Rhodes piano and organ, while Andrew Watt and Matt Clifford round out the lineup with additional instrumental parts and arrangements.

"Foreign Tongues" will be released less than three years after "Hackney Diamonds", the album that earned the Rolling Stones a Grammy Award. Recorded at Metropolis Studios in West London, the record was born out of a particularly fertile creative period for the band.
The fourteen tracks feature Jagger, Richards and Wood alongside longtime collaborators Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford and Steve Jordan. Among the most significant elements of the project is also the presence of Charlie Watts, heard in a recording made during one of his last studio sessions before his death in 2021. Announced guests include, besides Steve Winwood, also Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of the Cure and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

On the touring front, this year's planned tour has been cancelled due to the arthritis problems affecting Keith Richards. Mick Jagger, interviewed on the US programme Sunday Sitdown, hinted however that the band hopes to return to the stage in 2027.
