Neffa and Fabri Fibra are joining forces for an album made together. The announcement came from the stage at Party Like a Deejay, where the two artists revealed the existence of the project and performed live "Jay-Z", the first single from an album that brings together two central figures in the history of Italian hip-hop. To understand the significance of the move, we need to go back to the early 2000s. In 2002, while Neffa was gradually moving away from rap after leaving a decisive mark with Sangue Misto, "SxM" and the essential "Neffa & i messaggeri della dopa", he indirectly contributed to the birth of Fabri Fibra's solo career. Some of his productions ended up on "Turbe Giovanili", the album with which the rapper from the Marche region made his debut after his stint in Uomini di Mare alongside DJ Lato.
From that moment on, the two artists' paths continued to develop in parallel, crossing only occasionally. Their most significant collaboration came in 2024 with "Foglie morte", a track that marked Neffa's return to rap. The following year came "Hype (Nuove indagini)", made together with Myss Keta and included on the album "Canerandagio", a track that recycled the beat of "Scattano le indagini", the opening track of "Turbe Giovanili" itself, creating an ideal link between past and present.
The announcement of the new record comes at a particularly intense time for Fabri Fibra too, fresh off his arena tour and awaiting the release of the deluxe edition of "While Los Angeles Burns", due out June 19.
During the One Two One Two Celebration event organized by Radio Deejay, Neffa and Fibra officially confirmed the joint project. Summing up more than twenty years of mutual esteem and collaborations was a quip from Fibra himself: "In this life we managed to make an album together".
For now, the album's title and release date are still unknown. As Neffa explained from the stage, "more announcements will follow".
