Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi: new album “E poi scegliere con cura le parole” on the way – Listen to the single “Veloce”

Starting January 30th, the new recording project by Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi will begin to take shape. Ahead of the album's official release, set for March 20th on Woodworm, the artist has chosen to preview its contents with a four-track mini-EP titled A tutti i costi, which will serve as the first chapter of a broader, more carefully considered work.

The full album, E poi scegliere con cura le parole, was previewed last December with the single Veloce, and marks a new turning point in Giovanardi's solo career. It's a record built slowly and carefully, one that places the weight of words - and their ethical value, even before their musical one - at its core.

At the heart of the project is an explicitly collective idea of songwriting. Giovanardi envisioned the album as a genuine shared workshop, bringing in different writers to shape lyrics penned by multiple hands. The first released tracks bear the credits of Francesco Bianconi, Colapesce, Kaballà and Alessandro Cremonesi of La Crus. "It's the most thought-out, weighed and hard-won record I've ever made," says Giovanardi. A work begun before the pandemic, interrupted and resumed several times, partly to make room for the return of La Crus, which culminated in 2024 with “Proteggimi da ciò che voglio“. Leziero Rescigno oversaw production and pre-production, while LeLe Battista handled the recordings, arrangements and final mix of the tracks.

The mini-EP “A tutti i costi”, out January 30, brings together four tracks: “Veloce”, “Anni Zero”, “Per cantare più forte” and “Un errore”. A first glimpse of an album that, in its full version, will contain thirteen tracks and stands as Giovanardi's most ambitious solo work since 2017's “La mia generazione”. Over the past two years, the Monza-born artist has split his energies between this new solo path and his work with La Crus, who returned to the scene in 2024.
