Editors: listen to the new single “Call It In”. A live date in Italy

Editors are back with new single “Call It In”, released via Play It Again Sam, and have announced a European and UK tour set for 2027. The itinerary includes a single Italian date: 3 February at Alcatraz in Milan, organised by Dna Concerts.

The track arrives a few years after “EBM” (2022) and comes amid a period of redefinition for the British band, with frontman Tom Smith also having pursued the solo project “There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn’t There In The Light”. “Call It In” was born during a writing session in Gloucestershire in the summer of 2025 and is built on a stripped-back sonic structure, centred around a sharp, linear keyboard riff.

The official video, directed by guitarist Justin Lockey, translates this minimalism into images: the band plays in a bare interior lit by neon lights, with a cold palette that heightens the sense of suspension and rarefaction. Watch the video for “Call It In” below.

“We spent most of the summer of 2025 holed up in the Gloucestershire countryside, working on the songs all together in the same room, in a more traditional band setup,” say Editors. “‘Call It In’ is one of the most recent songs we’ve worked on: it’s a song about asking for help, really, in the face of existential anguish; about finding comfort and relief in someone close to you, escaping the deafening noise of modern life.”
