From Tame Impala to Nine Inch Nails, from Richard Ashcroft to White Lies: the most interesting new releases

Tame Impala – “End of Summer”

A few years after his last solo work, Kevin Parker is back to set the sound waves vibrating again with "End of Summer", a new single from Tame Impala that seems to open a new chapter in the Australian artist's trajectory. A track that, beyond its apparently melancholy title, plays as a manifesto of rebirth and aesthetic redefinition.

Blood Orange – "Mind Loaded"/"Somewhere in Between"

Dev Hynes is making people talk about him again with his Blood Orange project, and he's doing it in style. The project has announced "Essex Honey", his first album in six years, out on 29 August via RCA Records. A comeback that feels like a real event for the London musician, who personally wrote, produced and recorded this work as the soundtrack to a dreamlike journey through pain.

Six years of silence that translate into an album already being hailed as one of the year's most anticipated comebacks, with Blood Orange once again poised to prove his disarmingly natural ability to move between R&B, indie pop and experimentation. Listen to the first two singles below:

David Byrne – "She Explains Things To Me"

September 2025 will mark the recording comeback of David Byrne after seven years of silence with "Who Is the Sky?", announced last June alongside a world tour that will stop in Italy in February 2026.

The second single is titled "She Explains Things To Me" and takes partial inspiration from Rebecca Solnit's 2014 essay "Men Explain Things to Me". Here, though, the former Talking Heads frontman flips the mansplaining narrative on its head, exploring through an inner monologue how it's often women who pick up on nuances that elude men.

White Lies – “In The Middle”

After warming up the engines with "Nothing On Me", White Lies hit the mark once again with "In The Middle", the new single taken from "Night Light" that confirms the artistic maturity they've reached after sixteen years of career.

"In The Middle" isn't just the album's closing track: it's the emotional and sonic culmination of a journey that began nearly a decade ago. The lyrics, kept in the band's notebooks for ten years, have finally found their definitive shape in this hypnotic piece riding an irresistible motorik groove.

Nine Inch Nails – "As Alive As You Need Me To Be"

On September 19th, "TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" will be released worldwide, the album marking the official debut of the Nine Inch Nails in the realm of film scores. The soundtrack, created for the third chapter of the sci-fi saga TRON: Ares, is credited to the legendary industrial band led by Trent Reznor, here joined as always by Atticus Ross. As a composing duo, the two have already produced twenty soundtracks for film and TV, winning two Oscars, three Golden Globes, a Grammy and an Emmy.

The album is preceded by the single "As Alive As You Need Me To Be", the first new Nine Inch Nails track in five years, already featured in the film's new official trailer. The record will also be available in physical format in Italy, both on double vinyl and CD. "TRON: Ares" will hit Italian theaters on October 9, 2025.

Richard Ashcroft – "Lover"

Seven years after "Natural Rebel", Richard Ashcroft is ready to put the spotlight back on his solo work. The former Verve frontman has today announced the release of "Lovin' You", the seventh chapter of his solo career, due out October 3rd via Virgin Music Group. "Lovin' You" promises to be a sonic kaleidoscope spanning all of Ashcroft's creative sides. From the first single "Lover", already out since last May, emerges an artist who hasn't lost an ounce of his visionary flair — if anything, quite the opposite. The record ranges from his signature orchestral ballads to indie rock territory, flirting with Americana, soul and even electronic beats.
