Two years of sounds gathered and carried along, of difficult situations, setbacks and second thoughts. Two years spent immersed in research, in the (de)construction of music. Today that span of time becomes the guiding thread of the new album by Francesco Giannico, once again carefully layered electroacoustic music, produced for Silentes, run by Stefano Gentile, the label that had previously released "L'immagine di me, lontano" and the collaboration with Anacleto Vitolo. This time the sonic continuity is largely freed from a tight concept, a choice that projects the Apulian musician toward a more varied range of dimensions.
Caught up in crepuscular atmospheres – a true constant of the work – we find ourselves moving from the grainy, swelling mists of "Horizons Faded By Time" to the restless pulse cut through with oblique streaks of "Nervous And Abandoned Trails", from the organic fabric of "The Eternal Echoes Of Silence" to the romantic one of "Myst", both marked by the slow advance of guitar.
Each track crystallizes a feeling, a resurfacing instant – memory is a recurring theme for Giannico – or an image of a slow journey, pervaded by chance occurrences.
The result is a nocturne defined by concise, shape-shifting scenes, a sequence of landscapes whose common denominator lies in tone and in the careful juxtaposition of layers. An irregular yet coherent flow, perfectly crystallized in the closing "Shattered Reflections".
