Francesco Giannico

Francesco Giannico is an electroacoustic composer whose sonic practice is grounded in the concept of the soundscape and the seminal teachings of Raymond Murray Schafer. In 2010 he was among the founders of the Aips collective (Italian Soundscape Archive), and in 2013 he founded the independent label Oak Editions. His musical output alternates between works dominated by field recordings – "Metrophony" (2014, Time Released Sound), "Agoraphonia" (2016, Dronarivm – with Giulio Aldinucci) – and increasingly hybrid electroacoustic journeys – "Destroyed By Madness" (2020, Unknown Tone), "Misplaced" (2021, Adesso) – in which the instrumental component takes on greater space.

In 2020, together with Giulio Aldinucci, Emanuele Errante, Enrico Coniglio and Anacleto Vitolo, he founded Zeugma to promote Italian sound artists, and the following year he opened his Rumore Bianco Studio, devoting himself – alongside his own production – to an intense effort in teaching and spreading sound culture.
