The 33rd Wave Gotik Treffen kicks off in Leipzig, the world's biggest gothic gathering

The 33rd Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) will take place in Leipzig over Whitsun 2026, from May 22nd to 25th, confirming its status as the world's leading gathering for the gothic scene, with around 20,000 attendees expected. The festival offers more than 200 concerts spanning various dark subgenres, alongside a cultural program that includes the traditional Victorian picnic and the medieval market (Heidnisches Dorf).

Tickets for the event, which include use of public transport, are available for €190, with separate options for camping (Obsorgekarte) and vehicles at the Agra fairground, as stated on the official website. Despite the “black” aesthetic, the atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive, and the spirit is that of one big family reunion for the international dark scene.

So far 161 bands have been confirmed, including unmissable Italian acts Morgue Ensemble and Ash Code, as well as standout names like London After Midnight, She Past Away, Ductape, Clan Of Xymox and Moonspell, just to name a few.
