Clan Of Xymox

Clan of Xymox, also known as Xymox at various stages of their career, are a darkwave/gothic rock band founded in 1983 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, by Ronny Moorings, Pieter Nooten and Anka Wolbert. Currently, of the original members, only Ronny Moorings remains.

The Dutch group first made a name for itself with an EP, "Subsequent Pleasures", which led to a record deal with 4AD. Their self-titled debut album followed in 1985, earning the band favorable comparisons with the likes of Joy Division and Cure. Their masterpiece is generally considered to be the 1986 album "Medusa", in which they further explore the dark, melancholic vein of their music.
