Vasco Rossi on the tour setlist: “It'll surprise you, it opens with a song nobody expects”

Just days before the opening night of his new stadium tour, Vasco Rossi has revealed a few details about the concert setlist, promising an unexpected opener. The rocker will kick things off on Friday, May 29th with the traditional soundcheck reserved for fan club members, while the first official show is set for Saturday, May 30th at the Romeo Neri stadium in Rimini.
In a post shared on Instagram, Vasco talked about the work behind building the setlist: “The setlist will surprise you… it opens with a song nobody expects, reworked. It's going to hit hard”. For the singer, the opening track is crucial: “Once you've chosen the first song, it's like the opening line of a book — the rest of the songs follow naturally”.

The singer-songwriter from Emilia went on to explain the emotional mechanism driving the show: “The first three songs have to be strong, driving, with no pauses. The fourth is where the emotional ballad comes in. The songs have to build a kind of mental wave, both in the lyrics and in the music”. Vasco also stressed the importance of balance between the tracks, including consistency of key and the alternation between more energetic moments and more intense passages.
In recent days Vasco Rossi has also shared some videos from rehearsals in Rimini: “Hours and hours at the stadium… sun on my face, music in my ears and rock in my veins. You rehearse, you rehearse again, you change things, you start over”. And again: “The energy builds, the sound tightens up, the show takes shape”.
