Vasco Rossi unveils his new single "Marea": "An unauthorized planetary preview". A new live album is on the way

Vasco Rossi is preparing a new live release and has chosen “Marea” as the first taste of it. Friday 2 October will see the arrival of the video and live single of the track, a preview of the album “Vasco Live 20 | 26 The Essentials”, due out on 27 November and available for pre-order from the start of the month.
The announcement came from the rocker himself on social media, with one of his usual formulas: “A super news in unauthorised planetary preview”. “Marea” was one of the surprises of the Vasco Live 2026 tour: contrary to what one might think, it isn't a track dug up after a long absence from the setlists, but a song performed live for the very first time during this year's tour, in the second part of the show. The version coming out on 2 October will therefore be the first official release of its live incarnation.

The single will pave the way for "Vasco Live 20 | 26 The Essentials", a new project collecting material drawn from Vasco's live shows, which will hit stores and digital platforms at the end of November. The announcement immediately sparked excitement among fans, who flooded social media with hundreds of comments, ranging from requests to release the entire concert to messages eagerly anticipating the new live album.

The 2027 tour: the Rome residency

Meanwhile Vasco Rossi is already looking ahead to 2027, the year in which he will celebrate fifty years of career with a genuine residency at Rome's Stadio Olimpico. Ten concerts are planned in the capital: 6, 7, 10, 11, 15, 16, 19, 20, 24 and 25 June.
His name also continues to circulate in connection with the 2027 Sanremo Festival, which will be hosted by Stefano De Martino. The idea is that he could appear as a special guest in the very year marking the fiftieth anniversary of his career, but there has been no official confirmation so far.

The drama school

Alongside his music, the experimental theatre school project that Vasco set up and funds in Zocca is also moving forward. The second edition will kick off on 7 October at the Teatro Comunale “Vasco Rossi” and will run until March 2027. Enrolment opens on 29 September, and the course, open to anyone aged 14 and up, requires no previous acting experience.
The nearest date on the calendar, though, remains the one with “Marea”: on 2 October the song will return to the spotlight with the new video and the live version that will kick off the road towards “Vasco Live 20 | 26 The Essentials”.
