Pet Shop Boys, Suede and Slowdive will be among the headliners of Medimex 2026, set to take place in Taranto from 17 to 21 June.

The international festival, promoted by Regione Puglia and Puglia Culture as part of the Puglia Sounds project, returns with two nights of major concerts and a packed schedule of live music and industry events.

Among the main events, the standout is the “Dreamworld The Greatest Hits Live” show by Pet Shop Boys, set for Saturday, June 20, marking the opening date of their European summer tour as well as an exclusive appearance for South-Central Italy.

On Sunday, June 21, the schedule includes three concerts. Medimex celebrates fifty years of punk with "NYC Redux Band playing the music of Ramones", presented in a world premiere: the tracks from the Ramones' debut album of the same name are reinterpreted by a supergroup bringing together leading figures of the US scene, including Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Sami Yaffa (Michael Monroe, Joan Jett), Steve Conte (New York Dolls), Kid Congo Powers (ex-Bad Seeds), Luis Accorsi (Toxic Tito), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Victoria Espinoza (Puzzled Panthers/Gogol Bordello) and Tammy Faye Starlight.

Slowdive also return to Medimex, having already featured in the 2017 Bari edition, standing as a reference point for British shoegaze. Closing the bill are Suede, fresh off their recent Milan show, who will present their new album “Antidepressants“in Taranto.

The programme extends well beyond the concerts, with networking and training activities for industry professionals and artists, showcases dedicated to the new Apulian and national scene, talks, exhibitions and in-depth looks at the history of international music. The 2026 edition is conceived as a journey across genres and languages, from punk to pop.

Among the special projects, Antonio Diodato presents the second edition of "Le Strade del Mediterraneo", an initiative geared toward cultural exchange between the shores of the Mediterranean, while Michele Riondino signs off on a project weaving together music and theatre.
