The Solido experience returns for a sixth year, the network that brings together the three prestigious Emilia-Romagna festivals Ferrara Sotto Le Stelle, Arti Vive Festival and Acieloaperto. Last week the presentation press conference was held in Bologna, attended by Laura Di Salvo (Communications Manager for Emilia-Romagna Music Commission), Corrado Nuccini (Artistic Director of Ferrara Sotto Le Stelle), Matteo Gozzi (Artistic Director of Arti Vive Festival) and Piero Mantengoli (Artistic Director of Acieloaperto). Building on the positive experience of the first three-year cycle in 2021/2023 and the first two years of the current 2024/2026 cycle, Solido continues to shape a virtuous and effective model of cooperation between festivals. Artistic identity, gender balance, representation, accessibility, environmental and economic sustainability, quality, digital culture, inclusivity and roots in the local area remain the keywords defining the network's identity.
With this in mind, the Festivalino also returns, the autumn event hosted in one of the cities involved in the network's three festivals. In 2026 it will take place on 27 and 28 November in Soliera (MO) and, in this sixth edition, it evolves into a more compact, hands-on format: a microconference/showcase festival able to combine professional discussion, musical discovery and networking. Live shows, talks and roundtables will alternate over a weekend of work and listening devoted to live music, designed to connect festivals, artists, agencies, labels, institutions and cultural operators. A local platform aiming to build relationships, content and possible forms of touring circuits between parties who share structural problems and similar outlooks, coordinating processes according to the values Solido has expressed throughout its years of activity and dialogue.
At a time that is increasingly individualistic, competitive and fragmented, Solido is heading in the opposite direction, shaping an open space for debate that seeks to challenge the dominant logic which tends to reduce culture to a ranking, line-ups to a finish line, artists to a trophy to be shown off. The core idea is that festivals are, first and foremost, cultural strongholds: places that build relationships and shape audiences, that create opportunities for encounter and generate critical thought and a sense of belonging. Living organisms, with their own voice, their own history, their own community: able to change without conforming to a preset model or format, and valuable precisely because they are rooted in, and in dialogue with, a specific place.
