Twenty years after their last appearance in our country, Rush have announced their return to Italy with a concert set for 2027. Following last year's celebrated reunion, the Canadian band led by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson has officially confirmed a new world tour, titled "Fifty something tour".
The tour will kick off on June 7 in Los Angeles and will take in several US cities, as well as Canada and Mexico, before heading to Europe in 2027. Among the European dates is an Italian stop: March 30, 2027 at the Unipol Forum in Milan.
Tickets will be available according to the following schedule:
VIP packages are also planned.
Rush's last Italian show dates back to October 23, 2007, when the band took the stage at the DatchForum in Assago.
For the "Fifty something tour", Lee and Lifeson will be joined by German drummer, composer and producer Anika Nilles, who has already toured with Jeff Beck for over sixty shows and has released four solo albums. Also on stage will be keyboardist Loren Gold, known for his work with The Who and Roger Daltrey.
The tour will also pay tribute to drummer Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. "We can't wait to get back to cities we haven't visited in a long time and to play new venues", said Geddy Lee, highlighting the intense rehearsal work with Nilles and Gold on a repertoire of around forty songs, designed to vary the setlist from night to night. Lee also pointed to the return of several longtime crew members and the intention to celebrate fifty years of the band's career, honoring Peart with a dedicated tribute.
Rush are a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 1968, among the absolute leading lights of North American progressive rock. The classic lineup brought together Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, keyboards), Alex Lifeson (guitar) and Neil Peart (drums and lyrics). Over the years they fused hard rock with complex structures and literary-minded lyrics, forging a distinctive technical and conceptual identity. Albums such as "2112", "Moving Pictures" and "Permanent Waves" cemented their international standing and remain among the most influential in rock history.
