Ozzy Osbourne: here's when "Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning" hits theaters

17-09-2026

Ozzy Osbourne's final farewell to his audience becomes a film. “Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning”, dedicated to the historic concert of July 5, 2025 in Birmingham, will be screened in cinemas for two days only, on October 28 and 29.
The film revisits the long evening in which the Prince of Darkness bowed out from the stage, performing once again alongside Black Sabbath in the city where it all began. That show would take on an even more definitive meaning just weeks later: Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, only seventeen days after the concert.

"Back to the Beginning" was born precisely out of Ozzy's wish to say goodbye to his fans one last time. "'Back to the Beginning' happened because I asked Ozzy what would truly make him happy. And he said the only thing that would make him happy was being able to perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That was all he wanted. He wanted to say farewell and thank them," recalled Sharon Osbourne, the singer's wife and manager, and one of the main forces behind the event.
Sold out within minutes, the Birmingham concert turned into a collective celebration of the legacy of Ozzy and Black Sabbath. The day was hosted by Jason Momoa, while Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine served as musical director.

The stage saw performances from Alice In Chains, Anthrax, Gojira, Guns N' Roses, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Metallica, Pantera, Rival Sons, Slayer and Tool. The marathon also featured a series of all-star performances with musicians such as Billy Corgan, Chad Smith, David Draiman, Jake E. Lee, K.K. Downing, Nuno Bettencourt, Ronnie Wood, Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler, Travis Barker, Vernon Reid and Yungblud, among others.
"Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning" was directed for the theatrical release by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, previously involved in productions such as "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" and "George Michael: The Faith Tour", while the live filming was directed by Tim van Someren. The production is credited to Jim Parsons, Jamie Silk and Dan Seliger.
