Metallica: a new box set with 15 CDs and 4 DVDs celebrates 30 years of "ReLoad"

29-04-2026

Metallica have officially announced the release of a limited-edition deluxe version of their seventh studio album, “ReLoad”, out June 26, 2026. The reissue marks thirty years since the album's original release on November 18, 1997, which at the time debuted straight at number one on numerous international charts, cementing the band's peak phase of commercial exposure.

Conceived as a natural follow-up to "Load" (1996) and recorded during the same sessions, "ReLoad" collects some of the most representative tracks of that period, including "The Memory Remains", "The Unforgiven II" and "Fuel".

The remastered reissue stands as one of the most extensive projects ever devoted to the band's catalog. The box set includes 15 cds and 4 dvds, offering an extensive documentation of the studio work and live activity from those years. The materials include previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, rarities and B-sides.

The video section collects archival footage, behind-the-scenes material, TV appearances and live recordings, including the parking-lot concert at Philadelphia's CoreStates Complex and several dates from the Seoul tour.

Alongside the audio and video content, the box set is rounded out by a series of collectible items:

  • "ReLoad" (Remastered) on double 180-gram lp and cd
  • 7" single of "The Memory Remains"
  • three live LPs
  • 15 CDs and 4 DVDs with unreleased material
  • card for digital MP3 download
  • three laminated tour passes
  • "Gimme Fuel" poster (28×43 cm)
  • Pushead art print
  • sticker
  • 10 guitar picks
  • set of 13 cards inspired by the Rorschach test
  • folder with lyrics
  • 128-page hardcover book with photographs and testimonials

Alternative editions are also planned for wider distribution: double LP, 3-CD version, single CD, cassette and digital format. You can buy the set here: Metallica – ReLoad (Remastered) Super Deluxe Box Set
