Linkin Park: docu-film “Unshatter” coming to cinemas

05-08-2026

“Linkin Park: Unshatter”, the documentary directed by Joe Hahn, founding member of the band, will arrive in Italian cinemas from September 30 to October 3 as a special event distributed by Nexo Studios. The film retraces the seven years of silence that followed the death of Chester Bennington, following the band from their first studio sessions in 2022 through to the release of “From Zero” in 2024 and the huge São Paulo concert, a symbol of the band's new chapter.
More than a tribute or a traditional making-of, “Unshatter” unfolds as the story of a human and artistic journey built through archival footage, unreleased material, behind-the-scenes images and spectacular live performances. The documentary shows the creative process behind the band's rebirth, the arrival of singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, and how Linkin Park found the strength to start again without forgetting their past. The title comes from “Unshatter”, one of the first songs written together with Armstrong during the making of “From Zero”.

The film will be shown in cinemas in 2D format and, where available, also in ScreenX and 4DX theatres. Presales will open on 13 August. Alongside the theatrical release, the soundtrack "Unshatter (Live in São Paulo)" will also arrive on 25 September, collecting performances from the Brazilian concert as well as some exclusive recordings not featured in the documentary. The first single, "Somewhere I Belong (Live in São Paulo)", is already available.

Formed in 1996, Linkin Park have become one of the most influential and popular rock bands of the last twenty-five years. Their debut “Hybrid Theory”, certified Diamond in the United States, remains to this day the best-selling debut album of the 21st century, while works such as “Meteora” and “Minutes to Midnight” cemented their international success, leading them to sell over 100 million records worldwide and win two Grammy Awards. After the death of Chester Bennington in 2017, the band halted all activity for seven years, returning in 2024 with a new lineup led by Mike Shinoda alongside longtime members Brad Delson, Joe Hahn and Dave Farrell, joined by Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain. “Unshatter” documents exactly this delicate transition, telling the story of how one of the defining bands of contemporary rock managed to turn tragedy into a new chapter of its story.
