Ligabue: documentary “Luciano, prima di tutto” coming to TV

01-09-2026

Luciano Ligabue opens up about music, memories and more personal matters in “Luciano, prima di tutto”, the Sky documentary airing exclusively on Friday 4 September at 9.15pm on Sky Documentaries, streaming on NOW and available on demand. The same evening the film will also be broadcast on Sky Arte at 10.15pm.
Directed by Paolo Bonfadini, the documentary was made on the occasion of “La prima notte – Music Opening Ceremony”, the concert-event with which Ligabue inaugurated the Arena Milano Santa Giulia on 6 May, becoming the first artist to take the stage at the new Milan venue following the Olympic experience earlier in the year. The film's trailer has also been released.

“Time goes by, but that thing, being on stage, I need to enjoy it fully, that's the reality,” says Ligabue. His relationship with live performance is at the heart of the story: from the earliest gigs in front of a handful of friends at a small provincial venue to the huge Campovolo gatherings, capable of drawing over a hundred thousand spectators, through Italian, European and world tours, right up to his most recent stadium dates.
“Luciano, prima di tutto” also dwells, however, on the man beyond the musician, retracing key episodes and turning points in his life. From the first guitar given to him by his father to the emotion of sharing the stage with his son Lenny, the film reconstructs a career that has made Ligabue one of the most popular artists in Italian music.

Over the closing credits plays “Qualcosa per te”, a single written by Ligabue himself and produced by Federico Nardelli and Fabrizio Barbacci for Warner Music Italy, available on radio and digital platforms since 21 August.
The documentary is a Sky production made by Sky Content Factory. The interview is by Vera Spadini, who curated the project together with Giacomo La Gioia and Fabio Mastrapasqua.
