Lacuna Coil: watch the video for new single "Gravity", taken from the upcoming LP "Sleepless Empire". Two Italian dates on the world tour

12-01-2025

The new single by Lacuna Coil is titled “Gravity”. It's the fifth track lifted from the upcoming album “Sleepless Empire”, the Italian metal band's tenth studio album, due out on February 14th. Four other singles had already been released beforehand: “Never Dawn”, “Hosting The Shadow” (featuring Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God), “In The Meantime” (featuring Ash Costello of New Years Day) and “Oxygen”. “Gravity” touches on themes such as the inevitability of fate and life's constant ups and downs, delivering a message of resilience.

“It's not easy to keep your balance in such difficult times, we feel lost and we even struggle to breathe as we cry out for help – write Cristina Scabbia and co. in a statement – How should we deal with these moments? Should we seek help, or rather isolate ourselves from the world to pick up the pieces inside our golden, misanthropic cage? We hope you'll love ‘Gravity’ as much as we do, but above all that it makes you reflect on the time you have and on how to make the most of it”.

“Gravity” also comes with a dark-toned video directed by Martina L Mc.Lean. Watch the video for “Gravity” below.

“Sleepless Empire” follows “Comalies XX” (2022), a remake of the album “Comalies”, originally released in 2002. “It's an album that tells, through our eyes, the chaos of a generation trapped in a digital world that never stops, where social media destroys identity and pushes us, more and more every day, to turn into soulless zombies – the band explain in a statement – We find ourselves caught in the middle, having lived through the analog world and now living in the modern one, trying to understand its evolution and the meaning of it all. In every track, the journey is a hint of rebellion, a desperate attempt to rediscover yourself in an age that seems to have lost all sense of time and reality”.

The new album contains 11 tracks, each one the perfect soundtrack for a very specific moment and place. Here's the tracklist:

1. The Siege

2. Oxygen

3. Scarecrow

4. Gravity

5. I Wish You Were Dead

6. Hosting The Shadow (feat. Randy Blythe)

7. In Nomine Patris

8. Sleepless Empire

9. Sleep Paralysis

10. In The Mean Time (feat. Ash Costello)

11. Never Dawn
