Iceage: new album announced after 5 years, “For Love Of Grace And The Hereafter”. Listen to the single “Ember”

Five years on from the last Iceage album (“Seek Shelter“, 2021), the Danish band has announced a new record. It's called “For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter” and will be out in May. In the meantime, frontman Elias Rønnenfelt hasn't exactly been idle, but attention now turns back to the band: March brought the single “Star”, and today comes confirmation of a new full-length, alongside a second preview track, “Ember”. On the song, which also opens the album, Rønnenfelt swings between yearning and unease, singing of a love shadowed by a sense of threat: “I love you in an ominous way” (listen below).

“For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter” was recorded at Silence Studio, in the Swedish countryside, the same studio previously used for 2014's “Plowing Into The Field Of Love”. Production was handled by the band alongside longtime collaborator Nis Bysted.

Judging by the first tracks, the sound appears more polished than in the past, though without entirely giving up the tension and shadows that have always defined the Danish band.

Below is the full tracklist for "For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter", due out May 29 via Mexican Summer.
