Nexo Studios has released online the official trailer for "Franco Battiato. Il lungo viaggio", the first biopic dedicated to the Sicilian artist. The project, directed by Renato De Maria and written by Monica Rametta, will hit theaters as a special event on February 2, 3 and 4, 2026.
"Franco Battiato. Il lungo viaggio" traces the human and creative journey of Franco Battiato, following his beginnings in Sicily, his move to Milan in the early Seventies and his subsequent return to his homeland. At the heart of the story is the shaping of a restless, experimental artistic identity, already marked by a deep spiritual tension, developing within a uniquely fertile cultural climate. The young Battiato is played by Dario Aita, the protagonist of a narrative that runs through the decisive moments of his career: his most radical sonic explorations, his artistic circles, evenings shared with Giorgio Gaber, and the evolution of a musical language destined to leave a lasting mark on Italian culture. A central role is also given to the encounters that helped shape his path, from his friendship with Juri Camisasca and Giuni Russo to his long-standing partnership with violinist and composer Giusto Pio.
