Föllakzoid: seven Italian dates for the Chilean project

16-09-2024

Föllakzoid, the group led by Domingæ Garcia-Huidobro, will be back for live shows in Italy from the end of this week, with no fewer than seven dates. A central figure in the project since the beginning, the artist, musician and director weaves her queer and trans identity into both the sound and the live performances. Föllakzoid's musical journey is built on sonic exploration and trance-inducing rhythms, with an emphasis on repetition. They have carved out a niche for themselves in the global music scene, captivating audiences with immersive soundscapes and an ever-evolving musical vision. Formed in Santiago, Chile on 7/7/2007, they now move between Berlin and New York. Across their first two releases, "Föllakzoid" (2009) and "II" (2013), the band stood out for its blend of psychedelic rock, krautrock and electronic elements, often filtered through long jam sessions and improvisation. On their later albums, "III" (2015), "I" (2019) and more recently "V" (2023), they have incorporated electronic elements and techno influences, expanding their sonic palette while retaining their signature immersive quality. They are currently testing new combinations of efficient patterns in their live shows, which will be recorded later this year as part of their upcoming LP, due out on Sacred Bones Records in 2025.
