Bloc Party are back with a new album. The British band will release "Anatomy Of A Brief Romance" on September 11th via their own label cOnTAGIOUS LTD, distributed by Virgin Music Group.
The record is the band's seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2022's "Alpha Games". In recent years, the group led by Kele Okereke had also celebrated two key works of their career with special editions of "A Weekend In The City" and their historic debut "Silent Alarm", one of the key records of new new wave.
Produced by Trevor Horn, who has previously worked with artists such as Grace Jones, Pet Shop Boys and Frankie Goes To Hollywood, "Anatomy Of A Brief Romance" is described by the band as their most personal project yet. Okereke explained that the album chronicles, in chronological order, an intense and unexpected relationship that began after his separation from the father of his children: "Every lyric you hear on this record is something that really happened to me. I had to tell the story, from beginning to end."
The album is previewed by the single “Coming On Strong”, a track that introduces the record's atmosphere through a blend of emotional tension and propulsive energy: you can listen to it below.
