Andrea Laszlo De Simone: listen to Mabe Fratti's rework of "Non è reale". New screenings of "A Very Long Shadow" announced

"No es real (Mabe Fratti rework)" is out today on digital platforms, Mabe Fratti's reinterpretation of "Non è reale", a track taken from the latest work by Andrea Laszlo De Simone.

The Guatemalan musician, one of the most recognized figures on the current experimental scene, takes on the track with a radical approach: new orchestration, new vocal parts and lyrics rewritten in Spanish. The result amounts to a true re-composition, developed together with Héctor Tosta (I. La Católica), shifting the emotional and timbral axis of the original into a different dimension, one that's more rarefied and hypnotic.

The track opens the project "A Very Long Shadow (reframed)", a series of reworkings entrusted to international artists invited to engage with "A Very Long Shadow", the album released last November by the Turin-born singer-songwriter. The meeting between Fratti and De Simone came about through their collaboration with C2C Festival, where the two met during last year's edition.

"A Very Long Shadow" expands De Simone's musical writing into a filmic format that extends its sensory reach. Seventeen tracks become image, in a contemplative flow that weaves together introspection and vision, amid rarefied suggestions, symbolic flashes, fire and fog. The work, released six years after "Man woman", confirms the Turin musician's approach to an idea of song as total, emotional and layered storytelling.

Meanwhile, Dna Concerts has announced new special screenings of "A Very Long Shadow": theatrical events featuring a full listening of the album in a cinematic setting.
