From Jesus Lizard to Mercury Rev, from David Lynch to Pixies: the most interesting new releases

Jesus Lizard – “Hide And Seek”

The Jesus Lizard have unveiled the details of their first album in 26 years: it's called “Rack” and will be released on September 13 via Ipecac Recordings. The record was recorded with producer Paul Allen in 2019 at “Audio Eagle” studios in Akron, Ohio, owned by Black Keys drummer Black Keys Patrick Carney. Here's the first single, “Hide & Seek”:

M83 – “Oceans Niagara” (The Soft Moon Remix)

The new version also includes a remix of “Ocean's Niagara” by Luis Vazquez aka The Soft Moon, who tragically passed away last January 19 in an accident that also involved Los Angeles producer John Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant and his wife Simone Ling. Listen to the remix below:

David Lynch & Chrystabell – "Sublime Eternal Love"

After stirring fans' excitement a few days ago by promising “something new to see and hear,” David Lynch has kept his word, announcing the new single with Chrystabell, “Sublime Eternal Love,” accompanied by a video directed by Lynch himself. The track will be included on the new album, made in collaboration with Chrystabell and the late producer Angelo Badalamenti, titled “Cellophane Memories,” out August 2 via Sacred Bones. According to the press notes, the album “stems from a vision David had during a nighttime walk through a forest of tall trees, atop which he saw a shining light.”

Pixies – “You're So Impatient”/“Que Sera Sera”

The Pixies have released two new tracks titled “You're So Impatient” and “Que Sera, Sera,” two years on from their last album “Doggerel”. According to a press release picked up by NME, with the two singles the band aims to create “a macabre, cinematic picture of American pop culture.” “You're So Impatient” has been described as “a two-minute-nine-second explosive zombie attack at the mall,” while “Que Sera, Sera” is a cover of a song originally performed by Doris Day, transformed by Pixies into “a dark folk tale, retold through the lens of a monstrous sci-fi epic.”

Mercury Rev – "Patterns"

Mercury Rev have announced their first album of new music in nine years. The follow-up to 2015's "The Light In You" will be titled "Born Horses" and will be released on September 6 via Bella Union. Mercury Rev have also shared the first single from the album, "Patterns", along with its video: watch it below.
