We've been closely following the steady artistic growth of Andrea Mastropietro, who arrives with “Cielo e sfacelo” at his third solo album, after the strong showings of “Beyond What Is There" (2016) and “Alone in the Sun” (in the fraught year of 2020). The artist who for the past decade has gone by the stage name L'Albero had already paved a solid path as singer and guitarist of Vickers, a Florentine band capable of ranging from britpop to psychedelic rock. Lucio Battisti, Latin percussion, gazing at the sky, the Seventies, gentle embraces, spirituality, hints of Andrea Laszlo De Simone, hypnotic digressions, Mango, old-fashioned passages from a songwriter out of time. All this, and more besides, across eight tracks dense with words and emotions, plus one instrumental, “Richiami”, rounding out the new stylistic puzzle of this Tuscan musician, now recognized as far more than just another promising talent with a bright future ahead.
