HORSEGIIRL - Nature Is Healing

2026 (Self-released)
dance-pop, EDM

With "Nature Is Healing", HorsegiirL makes the riskiest move a project born as a meme, avatar, or viral phenomenon can attempt: turning its own narrative universe into something that aspires to outlast the initial joke. The half-horse, half-human DJ who in recent years has conquered festivals, social media, and international clubs could easily have settled for rehashing the formula of "My Barn My Rules", piling on hard-dance, irony, and equine nonsense until the joke wore itself out. Instead, she opts for a more ambitious direction: building an album that tries to hold together humor, pop spirituality, rave culture, and a genuine yearning for the idea of community.
It's precisely this contradiction that makes "Nature Is Healing" so interesting. On one hand, the caricature dimension of the character is still very much alive: apples, ponies, motivational slogans, robotic voices, and a constant sense of being inside a hyperactive cartoon. On the other, a surprisingly authentic exploration of connection, collective wellbeing, and the relationship between living beings and the environment emerges. It's a delicate balance that could easily have slid into unintentional parody or new-age rhetoric, but which HorsegiirL almost always manages to keep in motion thanks to writing that's fully aware of its own absurdity.

The record stands as her most complete and multifaceted work to date. Anyone expecting an hour of happy hardcore and hardstyle will be caught off guard. The electronic foundations remain clear, but the scope keeps widening: bubblegum bass, dance-pop, eurotrance, house, electro-pop, trip-hop touches, echoes of the Nineties, and even certain chill-out room atmospheres that seem to emerge from a balearic compilation left out in the sun. It's a surprisingly wide palette that, while occasionally risking dispersion, allows the album to avoid the monotony that so often plagues debuts built around such a strong concept.

"Nature Is Healing" is an imperfect but surprisingly bold debut. HorsegiirL chooses the path of imagination. It might come across as naive, at times even ridiculous. But beneath the project's fluorescent surface, her will to still believe that a song can generate collective joy without necessarily having to justify its own existence through irony is unmistakable.
