HEIMITO KÜNST - Vol.3

2026 (Dissipatio)
electroacoustic, experimental, lo-fi

The debut of the Heimito Künst project left listeners dazed by its construction and the nature of its sounds. A whirling first chapter from which the low-fidelity, kraut-inspired structures gradually shifted towards more accessible and enjoyable results. That process culminated in 2024 with the interesting collaboration with Dennis Callaci, geared towards exploring the song format. What remains unchanged is the lysergic approach, the lo-fi attitude and the Teutonic roots of the sound.

With "Vol. 3" the literary inspiration returns – this time it's Thomas Bernhard's turn to act as godfather – continuing the process of normalizing the material. Not simplification, but rather the pursuit of a more linear listening environment, which in this specific case draws heavily on the use of repetition. A choice underpinning the entire record, borrowing the concept of "auditory residue" from the theories of otologist Viktor Urbantschitsch.

The exasperating circularity of the synthetic modulations that open "I Fall From The Shadows And Burn" is a clear example of this. A hypnotic substrate onto which an atmospheric theme is grafted, akin to certain nocturnes in the style of Bohren & der Club of Gore. Yet the taste for ripples never fades — the kind that ceaselessly scrape at the wave-driven fabric led by a skeletal bass in "Put The Mask And Go Out", or that gnaw at the kosmische inclinations à-la Tangerine Dream of "Mirror Game".

With the collaboration of the usual Simon Balestrazzi, the enigmatic Heimito Künst builds his least narrative-driven album to date, favouring an immersive whole shaped by analogue machines, culminating in a final melancholy song with new wave undertones lurking in the background. What will Vol. 4 have in store for us?
